Tero Vesterinen, frontman of the band Vesterinen Yhtyeineen, tells Aki Linnanahde on Talk Showhow the salary is distributed in their band.
The band is big and there are 17 people on the road who are paid, for example, salaries, food and hotels. The salary arrangement can be considered exceptional.
– I hope I don’t spoil the earning logic of other Finnish artists, but we have equal pay for both the technology and the guys in the band, says Vesterinen.
Vesterinen himself gets a little more from interviews and other appearances promoting the band.
– But otherwise it (salary) is what it is, he states in the podcast.
Host Aki Linnanahde points out that the technician’s role is important, but no one shouts out the technician’s name or asks for his autograph at the gig.
– But they wouldn’t shout my name either if they were in the dark and nothing was playing, Vesterinen laughs.
Linnanahde agrees with this and says that raising “background types” is one of her values as well.
Vesterinen told Iltalehti about the dynamics of his band in the summer of 2024. The various issues faced by the band members in their lives have not affected the band’s activities. The band has always made genuine music together.
– For us, doing it together really means doing it together and not so that one person decides, Vesterinen said.
– We have a huge respect for each other.
The band, which has remained active since 2009, is known, among other things, for its songs No one ever, On dark roads and Towards the heart fields.
