Verstappen wins in Japan, conquers sixth constructors’ title for Red Bull

Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen continued his series of victories on Sunday by finishing first from pole position in the Japanese Grand Prix. The Red Bull racer won his thirteenth race this season and won the constructors’ title, the prize for drivers from one team. This despite a bad race by Red Bull teammate Sergio Pérez.

McLaren took second and third places, which were filled by teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The latter was on the podium for the first time in Formula 1. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished fourth, and Lewis Hamilton finished fifth in the Mercedes.

Next week Formula 1 will move to Qatar. Verstappen can win his third world title there, on Saturday by leading by three points during the sprint race, or on Sunday during the main race.
