In the 20th leg of the Formula 1 World Championship, the Mexican Grand Prix, the Dutch driver of the Red Bull team, Max Verstappen, came first.


The 20th match of the season was held on the 4.3-kilometer Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit in the capital, Mexico City, over 71 laps.


Verstappen in pole position won the race, which he took under control from the start, reaching the 14th place of the season and the 34th of his career.


The 25-year-old Verstappen thus broke the record for the most race wins in an F1 season, which he shared with Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013).


Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes team), 15.1 seconds behind the leader, came in 2nd and Sergio Perez, who came to the finish 18.1 seconds after his teammate Verstappen, came in 3rd.


The Brazilian Grand Prix, the 21st race of the 2022 season, will be held on November 13, with Verstappen securing the drivers’ championship and Red Bull the constructors’ championship.
