Venus Williams makes a comeback in mixed doubles

After her sister Serena, Venus Williams is also making her tennis comeback in Wimbledon, at least in mixed.

The American competes with Britain’s Jamie Murray and meets New Zealand’s Michael Venus and Alicja Rosolska of Poland in the first round, the organizers said.

The 42-year-old Williams last completed an individual on the WTA tour at the end of August last year. She has won seven singles titles, 14 doubles titles and two mixed doubles titles in her career in Grand Slam tournaments.

Her sister Serena had celebrated her single comeback the day before after a year-long injury break. The 40-year-old was eliminated in the first round in three sets by French Harmony Tan.
