Singer and actor Veeti Kallio tells Janne Katajan Juniper & citizens in the podcast their difficulties during the corona pandemia.
Kallio had just bought a farm with his spouse. The intention was to start running the café, but suddenly there was no money. Depression was going to hit it at that point.
Kallio says there were two options. Either he would be depressed or wondered what to do. Kallio chose the latter of the options. However, he not only decided to stop depression, but the professional played his part in the game.
– Yes, there were fears and terrible stress all the time. Then on the municipal side I went to therapy. I went with a psychiatric nurse a few times to talk to me that I was able to break my thoughts a little, Kallio describes.
Kallio describes his healing process symbolically.
– Imagine having a jug in a hand with colored liquid. When you put it under the faucet and drain clean water there, it will slowly lighten it. You don’t have to pour it off at once and put just light, Kallio describes.
Now the situation is completely different. Kallio and spouse have been running a summer café for five years.
– Yes, I’m really good in mind. I guess then when you start doing something about it, it will quietly brighten up, Kallio says.
Iltalehti interviewed Kallio and spouse Jenni sharp In 2020 before interest rates. Then the couple was just dreaming of their new conquest.
– We have been looking for our own rural dream. We sold our detached house just over a year ago and now we live temporarily in a block of flats. Once you have to live in a detached house, your fingers are already starting to blame and feel lazy in the apartment block, Kallio described.
However, the dream was clear already in March.
-The dream is a Bed & Breakfast -type mesta, where we could also keep dogs, cats, sheep and chickens, Kallio painted.
– And where you would have a café and a small shop, Teräväinen added.
