Vedat Muriqi of Kosovo, who defeated Slovakia 4-3 in the FIFA 2026 World Cup Qualifiers Play-off Semi-Final match and became the opponent of our National Team in the final, spoke after the match.

Muriqi said, “It was a very important win, yes we are celebrating, we are having fun because we deserved it, but we have not achieved anything yet. We only have one more small step left to reach the World Cup, to make history.”

I have always said that my dream as a football player and the pinnacle of all football players representing their country is to take part in the World Cup. So I hope that I can personally achieve this goal and then we can bring happiness to people all over Kosovo.

We are happy, everyone should celebrate because we deserve it. I would like to thank Kosovo and all Albania, wherever they are, for their support and we expect support in our last match against Türkiye.
“WE KNOW THE WEAK POINTS VERY WELL”
We know Türkiye’s quality, I think they are a better team than Slovakia, but we also know their weak points very well. “We will do our best and I believe that our job will be a little easier with the support of our fans.”
