Van Peel demands 1 billion euros from asbestos producer Eternit to correct “historical damage”

N-VA chairman Valerie van Peel demands that asbestos producer Eternit will rectify part of his historical debt. “It is time for the bill to finally be where it should be: no longer with the citizen, but with the polluter,” says Van Peel. N-VA wants the company to pay at least 1 billion euros to make Flanders asbestos safe by 2040.
