A driver crashed his van into the guardrail on the A8 near Zaandam towards Beverwijk around 5 p.m. No one was injured in the collision. However, the driver had to be taken to the station because of driving under the influence, a police spokesperson said.
The collision seriously damaged the guardrail and one lane was temporarily closed to repair the guardrail. The road has now been reopened, the police spokesperson said.
