Van Gerwen was trumped by 16-year-old Littler, who also throws a nine-darter

Michael van Gerwen has lost the final of the Bahrain Darts Masters. Darts talent Luke Littler (16) won 8-5 in legs against the Brabander in Bahrain. In addition, the young Briton made history earlier that evening by becoming the youngest player ever to throw a nine-darter in the World Series.

After making a big impression at the Darts World Championship, Luke Littler seems unstoppable. While the darts talent from England came second at the World Cup, he won the darts tournament ‘Bahrain Darts Masters’ by Michael van Gerwen on Friday. He did that with 8-5 in legs.

In addition, the young Briton made history earlier that evening by becoming the youngest player ever to throw a nine-darter in the World Series. He did this with his first nine darts of the quarter-final against fellow countryman Nathan Aspinall. Littler completed the leg by throwing seven triple 20s, one triple 19 and double 12. He eventually won that match 6-3.
