Van Gaal may be allowed to bring three more players to the World Cup

National coach Louis van Gaal may be allowed to include 26 players in his squad for the World Cup, instead of the now allowed 23. Sources have reported to Reuters news agency that FIFA plans to give all participating countries more space. The subject will be discussed with coaches and officials on Friday, ahead of the draw for the final round in Qatar.

The measures are still related to the consequences of the corona virus, which means that there is a chance that several infected football players will have to skip a match.

Last year at the European Championship, UEFA also allowed selections of 26 players, although only 23 were allowed on the scoresheet per game.
