Van der Burg appeals against ruling on asylum reception
State Secretary Eric van der Burg will appeal against the judge’s ruling on the living conditions in the asylum reception. The court ruled on Thursday that the government does not meet the European standards that apply to humane reception.
Van der Burg said earlier Friday that he agrees with “the main message”, namely that the level of reception must be raised. He noted, however, that the problems mainly arise in crisis emergency shelters. This should in any case be phased out as soon as more reception places are realized in the regular reception.
