Botic van de Zandschulp and coach Sven Groeneveld no longer work together. The Amstelveen tennis player has been coached by Groeneveld from Haarlem since May of this year.
“It has been mutually decided that there is insufficient basis for further cooperation in 2024,” said the management of the current number 65 in the world. The 28-year-old Van de Zandschulp has had a disappointing season, partly due to injuries. He did not progress beyond the second round at any of the four Grand Slam tournaments. He did reach the final of the Munich clay court tournament.
End of season
Groeneveld was missing from Van de Zandschulp’s first round match in Basel on Monday. The coach was still there in Antwerp last week. The tennis season is almost over. Van de Zandschulp will participate in the Davis Cup Finals on behalf of the Netherlands in November and may also play one or two more tournaments. He will play his second round in Basel on Thursday.
