Van Bommel also wins second competition match with Antwerp FC

Mark van Bommel has also won the second match with Antwerp FC in the Belgian football competition. The home game against Zulte Waregem ended in 1-0. Antwerp started the competition last weekend with a 2-0 win at KV Mechelen.

Striker Michel Ange Balikwisha scored the goal halfway through the second half on Sunday. Shortly afterwards, Van Bommel brought in the Dutch attacker Vincent Janssen. Janssen also had to settle for a role as a substitute against Mechelen. In the two European matches against FC Drita in the Conference League, the former AZ player was a basic player.

After two rounds of play, only OH Leuven and Antwerp are still without loss of points in the highest Belgian football class. Leuven is the leader based on a better goal difference.
