– It just lost power all of a sudden. The engine idled. I don’t know what caused it, Bottas stated in an interview with Viaplay.
The third suspension of the season happened at the end of the race.
– I don’t think there were any points coming. We committed to one pit stop and it was quite difficult to back out, Bottas admitted the situation.
Crashed on hard tires at the top of the race Charles Leclerc competition. Even for Bottas, slipping into cool conditions on Pirellis that were working far too poorly was not an uplifting experience.
– At first, the tires seemed to work well, but towards the end they started to freeze. It was quite difficult to fight with those tires, Bottas clarified the passing of others.
– The tires did not work so well that they would have scored points.
Bottas, who started from the eighth grid, kind of lost the game at the beginning of the race, when five places were lost at the start.
– Everyone who started with the softest tire compound got past me. A little bit of everything happened, I don’t even remember.
But the start was good?
– Not good enough. Yes, there is still work to be done, Bottas stated.
F1 is now heading for a short summer break. Kallio asked about Bottas’ vacation plans.
– It would be a couple of days of dune and then you can go on vacation. At least I’m going to convert in Finland. Maybe you have to travel somewhere, Bottas laughed at the end of the interview.
Bottas is ninth in the World Series. Since the beginning of the season, the Finn has collected 46 MM points. Team mate Guanyu Zhou the balance is five.
