After Val Kilmer’s death, numerous fans share memories of the actor. Among them is also a weird music video.
Oneohtrix Point Never turned Trippy Clip
Val Kilmer was actually known as a film star. In 2016, however, he appeared in a video clip by the music producer Oneohtrix Point Never to the song “Animals”. The video shows Kilmer how he sits alone on a bed in a room without natural light. Sometimes the camera shows the room, then again the actor dressed in a red jogging suit, from the front and from behind. The picture flickers in time for experimental electronic music, Kilmer looks dazed, but smiles in between.
Rick Alverson (“The Mountain”, 2018) directed the video. The song appeared on the Album Garden of Delete. Among other things, oneohtrix point Nevers music label Warp Records now shared the clip.

Memory of Val Kilmer
For Val Kilmer, the music video was one of his last appearances. The actor was diagnosed with larynx cancer in 2014, after which he only occurred occasionally. He had his last role in “Top Gun: Maverick” in 2022, where after 1986 he again appeared as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. His biggest roles also included Jim Morrison in the Biopic “The Doors” (1991), the title role in “Batman Forever” (1995) and Perry van Shrike in “Kiss Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” (2005).
Incidentally, “Animals” is not Val Kilmer’s only role in a music video: in 2012 he was in the clip too “To be the best” to see the humorous rock band Tenacious D.
In 2020, the actor stated that he was free of cancer, but struggling with persistent treatments. Val Kilmer died on April 1, 2025 in Los Angeles, as his daughter announced the media.
