VakıfBank became the champion by beating Eczacıbaşı Dynavit 3-1 in the Turkish final of the Volleyball Women’s CEV Zeren Group Champions League.
Eczacıbaşı Dynavit started the match by scoring points from the corners. VakıfBank was also effective with Boskovic in the match, which was very balanced. Eczacıbaşı took a time-out after the yellow-black team increased the difference to 3 points (11-8). Despite the plays of Stysiak and Ebrar Karakurt, VakıfBank scored consecutive points against the orange-whites after the break and gained an advantage of 18-14. Continuing their tempo with the points they scored from the blocks, the yellow-black team won the set 25-20 and took the lead 1-0.
VakıfBank made an effective start to the second set. The yellow-blacks, who scored consecutively with Markova and Boskovic, gained a 10-5 advantage. Recovering in the middle of the set, Eczacıbaşı brought balance to the game with Markova’s mistake: 19-19. The yellow-blacks, who were effective in the last episode where Boskovic stood out with his performance, took the set 25-21 and made the score 2-0.
The third set started with a balanced fight. Although the orange-white team, effective with Stysiak and Jack-Kısal, gained a 12-10 advantage, VakıfBank took the lead 14-13 with Zehra Güneş’s serve. While the set witnessed great competition, Boskovic came to the fore for the yellow-black team. With Markova’s mistake while returning the serve, Eczacıbaşı equalized: 20-20. Finding their rhythm in front of the net, the orange-whites made the score 24-21 with Jack-Kısal’s block and VakıfBank called a timeout. Eczacıbaşı Dynavit continued its superior play and won the set 25-21, making the score 2-1.
VakıfBank started the fourth set well. While Boskovic stood out with his dunks, the yellow-blacks gained a 10-7 score advantage. Continuing its superior play, VakıfBank won the set 25-18 and the match 3-1 and won the championship.
On the other hand, in the fourth set of the match, Eczacıbaşı captain Simge Aköz and Ebrar Karakurt collided in one position. While both volleyball players continued the game, the players received great applause from the stands.
