Vakıfbank Captain Melis Gürkaynak: I’m struggling not to cry

Captain Melis Gürkaynak at VakıfBank, who defeated Fenerbahçe 3-0 in the sets in the 5th and last match of the Sultans League play-off series, made a statement to İhlas News Agency (İHA). Expressing that it was a very good series, Gürkaynak said, “I congratulate Fenerbahçe. It is not easy to play these high-level matches at the end of the season. It was a good season for Turkish volleyball, the whole league was very enjoyable. I congratulate all the teams, we are happy.”

“10 MORE DAYS, I’M KEEPING MYSELF NOT TO CRY”

Gürkaynak, who played his last game with VakıfBank and will put an end to his career after the national matches, said, “This is my last game in this hall. We will go to Slovenia with the national team. If the season was over, I’m sure I would have cried more. There are 10 days and I’m trying to keep myself from crying. “I owe gratitude. My childhood passed, it is very difficult to say goodbye to this place. This is my family,” he said.
