On Friday, Drake released his new album “Iceman” – and surprised with two more records: “Habibti” and “Maid Of Honor”. The Internet is currently reacting to this massive triple drop – including BTS, who receive a shoutout on the opener “Make Them Cry.”
The reaction came from BTS members V and J-Hope and was shared via V’s Instagram story (a fan uploaded the video to YouTube, see below). The two stand in front of the camera, listen to “Make Them Cry” and nod their hats to the beat. But when Drake reaches the fourth line of the first verse – “I’m feeling like BTS ’cause it took the whole career for me to be so discovered” – they freeze and stare at each other in disbelief.
It’s not the first time BTS and Drake’s paths have crossed. In 2018, Drake included J-Hope’s viral “In My Feelings” challenge entry in the official music video. In a 2019 ROLLING STONE interview, J-Hope named Drake as his dream collaboration partner – RM agreed: “J-Hope just mentioned Drake. I think Drake is really like the ultimate goal. We met him at the Grammys, so: Drake, please call our label when you have time.”
BTS with new album
BTS recently returned with their new album Arirang, which they spoke about in detail with ROLLING STONE – each member got their own individual cover story. On Saturday they kick off the first of three nights in Stanford, California, as the start of their gigantic world tour.
As for Drake: The three new albums are his first solo efforts since the beef with Kendrick Lamar and his diss track “Not Like Us.” He ushered in the Iceman era last month when he cleverly hid the album’s release date in a giant ice structure in the heart of Toronto.
