Are the USA expanding their attacks on Iran? Media reports from the USA suggest that further US fighter jets are being deployed to the Middle East – including from Germany.
The situation in the Middle East is escalating. Reports from the Wall Street Journal indicate that F-16 fighter jets are being relocated from the Spangdahlem Air Base in Germany to the region. F-35 jets stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the UK are also expected to be deployed in this renewed conflict. Additionally, refueling aircraft are en route to support these operations.
The New York Times has also reported that this decision was made prior to the deaths of two US servicemen on Friday, indicating a predetermined strategy in the evolving landscape.
Escalating Conflict
The Iran War reignited earlier this month due to the ongoing disputes over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, crucial for global energy trade. The US has resumed targeting sites within Iran, while Tehran has retaliated with strikes in the region.
Recent reports indicate that Jordan’s coastal city of Aqaba was also struck on Saturday. The Israeli military has observed rocket fire from Iran directed at this city, which lies merely kilometers from the Israel border.
Missiles Intercepted
Jordanian armed forces reported the interception of three Iranian missiles, while a fourth landed in a remote area. According to local news agency Petra, there have been no casualties or reported damage from these incidents.
