“Any nuclear weapons test would be a complete violation of UN Security Council resolutions,” Sherman told reporters after a meeting with her South Korean counterpart Cho Hyun-dong. “Not only South Korea, the US and Japan would react strongly and clearly, I believe the whole world would,” he said.
On Monday, the US and South Korea fired eight missiles from South Korea’s east coast in response to North Korea’s recent missile tests.
The International Atomic Energy Agency also indicated on Monday that the expansion of North Korea’s main nuclear site is progressing.
