Washington (dpa-AfX)-Before bilateral conversations about the Iranian nuclear program, the US government has significantly subdued expectations. With a view to the planned meeting on Saturday in the Gulf State of Oman, the spokeswoman for the US State Department, Tammy Bruce: “These are not negotiations, that’s a meeting.” When asked by journalists, she explained that she only wanted to explore what was basically possible. “It is a contact – and no longer,” said Bruce. The overarching goal remains clear that Iran should “never get a nuclear weapon”.
