“US considers deployment of troops in Eastern Europe” and takes family of diplomats in Ukraine home

The US administration of President Joe Biden is considering sending thousands of troops and military ships and planes to NATO member states in Eastern Europe, the New York Times reports. It would initially be 1,000 to 5,000 troops, with the potential to increase tenfold if the situation worsens. The US State Department has ordered the families of US diplomats in Kiev to leave the country.
