Kacper Tomasiak’s star really rose at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The Polish ski jumping jewel won big in Italy with two silver medals and one bronze. Although team boss Adam Malysz is convinced that the 19-year-old will not lose his focus, the icon sends a warning to the super talent.

“The most important thing now is that he doesn’t let himself be drawn into the company of bad friends,” the 48-year-old made clear in an interview with “Super Express”: “There will always be people who say: ‘Come to the disco, come with me for a beer’ or something like that. After his recent successes, there will be a lot of such offers.”

Malysz himself knows what he is talking about, after all, the man from Wisla won his first World Cup at the tender age of 18. “I hope that the success doesn’t go to his head. Given the fact that he has a lot of siblings and his parents are really very balanced, I don’t think so,” the team leader of the Polish ski jumping team continued.

Ski jumping: Tomasiak “simply unbelievable”

Overall, he is “very impressed” with Tomasiak, who is currently in 14th place in the overall ski jumping World Cup and is currently preparing for the Junior World Ski Championships in Lillehammer, Norway (March 4th to 8th): “He just exudes such calm throughout all of this. It’s simply unbelievable.” The pressure is also not a problem for the 19-year-old.

“He’s definitely much better at it than I was back then. I had a lot of problems at the beginning. When I started, I needed a psychologist because the training was going much better, but later the competitions came and this effect didn’t happen,” revealed Malysz: “You have to be born with it, because you can learn it over time, but if you’re born with it, you simply have 50% more and have an advantage.”

Tomasiak is the new star in Polish ski jumping. The youngster recently won silver on the normal hill and bronze on the large hill at the Winter Olympics in Italy. The silver medal was also won in the super team competition.
