Urby Emanuelson has returned to the old nest. The former Ajax player will play for the amateur branch of the national champion from today. Emanuelson was last under contract as a player with FC Utrecht, but was no longer given playing time there. Since then, the Amsterdammer has been on the technical staff of the Utrecht team.
Emanuelson immediately took part in a half for his new team against Genemuiden. The amateurs of Ajax played a goalless draw with ten men. Former Ajax players Lesly de Sa, Dico Koppers, Rydell Poepon and Atilla Yildirim also play for the team from Amsterdam.
The team relegated from the third division last season and now plays in the fourth division B. The club is fourth with eleven points. That is four fewer than leader Swift.
Last year Emanuelson looked ahead to the confrontation between his old clubs, AS Roma and Ajax.
