Neogames Finland, the umbrella organization of the Finnish game industry says in his report the gaming industry suffers from a skills shortage. During the next two years, 500 new employees are needed in the industry in Finland.

To cover the talent shortage, game studios have had to hire international talent. In 2022, the Finnish gaming industry will have employed an estimated 4,100 people both from Finland and abroad. 35 percent of the staff mainly work remotely.

Despite the lack of talent, the gaming industry makes a solid profit. According to the report, Finland’s gaming industry ranks among the five largest countries in Europe. As a producer of mobile games, Finland is the leading country.
