Unterhaching collects mega sum for Karim Adeyemi

The move from national player Karim Adeyemi to the Bundesliga soccer team Borussia Dortmund is also financially worthwhile for the Bavarian regional league team SpVgg Unterhaching.

The former first division club had contractually concluded a resale clause when the striker was transferred to Red Bull Salzburg in summer 2018 and now receives a fixed payment of over six million euros with the option of two performance-related tranches of around one million euros each.

In addition, the Spielvereinigung Unterhaching Fußball GmbH & Co. KGaA could participate in transfer proceeds if Adeyemis were resold by BVB to a third party, as the club announced.

Adeyemi played in the Unterhachinger junior division between 2012 and 2018 before he went to Salzburg and made his breakthrough there.

Borussia announced on Tuesday that Adeyemi had been signed by Austrian champions Salzburg. The 20-year-old forward has been given a five-year contract there, replacing Erling Haaland, who will join Manchester City. Both clubs agreed in principle on a transfer, the last contract details are still to be clarified.

BVB is to receive a fixed transfer fee of around 60 million euros for the Norwegian, but there was no official information about the transfer fee for Adeyemi. According to media reports, it should amount to 30 million euros plus bonuses.

The SpVgg was relegated from the 3rd division to the fourth division in the previous season and is fifth in the table there.
