AMSTERDAM – A few days before the start of the most important marathon competition in the Netherlands, it is extremely restless in the skating peloton. The reason is the Dutch championship on artificial ice, which will be held on January 1. Just a few days ago, the teams were told that the KNSB has decided that long-track riders may participate in the National Championships. Team Essent intends to start with the long track team and the marathon team. This decision has not gone down well with nine of the ten team leaders and they are therefore going to the dispute committee. “This goes against the rules of fair play.”
