Unk is dead. He was 43 years old. The Atlanta rapper’s passing was announced via social media. However, a cause of death was not given.
His career
The musician, whose real name was Anthony Platt, made a name for himself in the early 2000s with the tracks “Walk It Out” and “2 Step”. His debut record was released in 2006 under the title BEAT’N DOWN YO BLOCK! – Artists like Outkast’s André 3000 and T-Pain were also involved in remixes of his songs.
Another LP by Unk, who was also called DJ Unk, came out two years later in 2008. The work, which was called 2ECOND SEASON, was to be his last published work to date. It was praised by critics, but still couldn’t achieve the same impact as his first film.

In a post they wrote: “DJ Unk was not only a legendary DJ, rapper and producer, but a true cornerstone of our label, and the mark he left around the world will be forever cherished. Hits like ‘Walk It Out’ and ‘2 Step’ left an indelible mark on the industry, and his legacy will continue to inspire artists, DJs and fans for years to come. His energy, creativity and commitment to the craft will never be forgotten.”
