United Nations buys cargo ship to prevent oil spill off Yemen coast

The United Nations has purchased an oil tanker to prevent an oil spill off the coast of Yemen. The UN ship is to be sent to the Red Sea next month to recover the equivalent of 1 million barrels of crude oil from the aging tanker ‘FSO Safer’. Achim Steiner, head of the UN development agency UNDP, reports this.
