Coach Urs Fischer from the Bundesliga club Union Berlin demands a certain persistence from his attackers Jordan Siebatcheu and Sheraldo Becker in order to end their goal drought.

“The good thing is that they come up with opportunities. They have to keep at it. Maybe you just need a goal that you choke over the line, ”said the Swiss before the Bundesliga home game of second place against FSV Mainz 05 on Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky). “As a striker, you also need a sense of achievement,” said the 56-year-old.

Most recently, the 26-year-old missed a penalty against Hoffenheim. In the cup against Wolfsburg he failed on the crossbar.

Both have been unsuccessful in scoring for weeks. Becker has only managed one goal in the last 15 competitive games. Siebatcheu’s last goal was in September last year.

However, Urs Fischer emphasized that the two forwards help the team in other ways – and must continue to do so.

“You have to stay tuned and keep working for the team. Develop further opportunities. At some point you will be rewarded for it,” he said. Becker has already prepared two goals in the new year.

The Köpenicker offensive continues. In the four competitive games after the winter break, the Berliners scored at least two goals in every game.

Fischer also has a good alternative in striker Kevin Behrens. The 32-year-old scored in Bremen and against Wolfsburg to win.
