Again, German fans are involved in a pyro scandal. The Europa League game between Union Berlin and Malmö has to be stopped when the score is 0-0 because Union chaos shoot pyro rockets and pyrotechnics onto the lawn in the 57th minute.

Immediately a group forms from the neighboring Malmö block. Drinks fly in the direction of the Union Block. Firecrackers are ignited. It is unclear by whom these are ignited. More pyro rockets – and seat shells – fly out of the Union block.

Halil Umut Meler (Turkey) interrupts the game and brings the teams into the dressing room. The Malmö fans sitting around the Union fans’ guest block flee and move away as quickly as possible.

After a few minutes, the police march to the block, take to the stands to act as a buffer between blocks.

The TV pictures clearly show that not all of the approximately 1,100 Union supporters in the stadium support the pyro idiots. Some fans complain about pyro detonators, apparently just want to enjoy the trip to Europe.

Union coach Urs Fischer (56) also looks stunned in the direction of the Union block after the game was interrupted.

After all: Some of the Malmö fans who responded to the Union chaos are being led out of the block by the police.

After almost 20 minutes, the announcement follows that the game will continue. The game should be stopped immediately when the next pyro rocket flies onto the field.

The atmosphere between the two ultra scenes of the clubs was already tense before the game. Malmö’s Ultras are friends with the Ultras from Union city rivals Hertha BSC.
