Union Berlin has officially announced the next addition in the current transfer window: The 1.90 meter tall center forward Chris Bedia comes from Servette FC and reportedly signed a contract in Köpenick until 2027. The 27-year-old’s working paper in Switzerland would have expired at the end of the season According to consistent reports, the transfer fee is 2 million euros.

Bedia is supposed to close the offensive gap in the capital for Sheraldo Becker (background) who has moved to Real Sociedad. The Ivorian scored 13 goals in 17 league games in Geneva during the current season and also scored twice in the national cup, in the Europa League and in the Champions League qualification. The left-footer, who moved to Servette on a free transfer from Belgian club RSC Charleroi in January 2022, has since more than tripled his market value to 3 million euros (see history). Bedia has been in demand across Europe in recent weeks, including FC Bologna, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Union’s league rivals Werder Bremen, who are said to have had the offensive power on their list.
