1. FC Union Berlin has signed offensive talent Julien Friedrich. The 19-year-old left winger, who is currently on loan to the northeast regional league team VSG Altglienicke, has extended his contract with the Eiserne. As always, the Köpenickers did not announce anything about the new term. Friedrich has been training at Union since 2018 and will be integrated into the professionals upon his return.
“We are following Julien’s development very closely and are pleased about the steps he is taking in an established regional league team. He is one of our most promising top talents. Julien is a young player with a great willingness to learn and development potential. We are convinced of his path and look forward to integrating him into our professional squad from the summer,” said sports director Horst Heldt.
