The UniCredit, which is targeted by Commerzbank, holds a small stock package on the Insurer Generali.
The Italian bank announced on Sunday to keep about 4.1 percent of the shares. Another 0.6 percent are the usual service for customers and affiliated hedge funds in the existence.
The share of stocks at the Italian insurance is a “pure financial investment”, it continued. Unicredit has no strategic interest in Generali and remains fully focused on the strategy plan “Unicredit Unlocked”, the takeover offer for domestic industry colleague Banco BPM and the investment in Commerzbank. The UNICREDIT share temporarily notes 1.47 percent lower at EUR 43.79, while the Commerzbank share noted 1.82 percent at 18.34 euros.
