The footballer and his partner have rented the apartment to the current resident since February 1, 2022. He currently pays an amount of approximately 3,200 euros in monthly rent. The footballer himself lived abroad with his family, near the football club(s) he played for.
Contract terminated
In July 2025, the contract with his last club was terminated. As a result, he had to leave the home abroad where he was staying, which his employer had arranged for him. He was no longer able to play football elsewhere. He therefore wanted to return to his apartment in Noord and informed the tenants of this in August 2025, but they wanted to continue living there. The footballer and his partner therefore went to court to get them out.
During the hearing, the footballer explained that he had to stop due to a knee injury. As a result, he no longer has any income and cannot get a mortgage for another home. It would also not be possible to find a rental property. He owns no other homes. Since July 2021, he has been living with his partner and three children in a holiday home abroad or with family and friends.
