It took a while until everything was arranged, but Dirks can officially call himself a Terrassa FC player. The city with more than 200,000 inhabitants is about a half-hour drive from Barcelona, towards the interior. The local FC’s stadium has room for 11,500 spectators. “The facilities are comparable to clubs in the first division. The level of play is also approximately the same.”
Dutch enclave
At Terrassa FC, Dirks ends up in a Dutch enclave. Quinten van den Heerik (former Telstar) and Gylermo Siereveld already played in Spain and striker Tom Boere was also presented last week. “It was interesting how they look at the future. I think they were also very enthusiastic and that gave a good feeling. And yes, Spain also looks good, Barcelona nearby. That also influenced the choice.”
