Ultra runner Karel Sabbe takes a shot at world record with new challenge

We already know that Karel Sabbe is not averse to an extreme running challenge, after his superhuman performance in the United States during the Barkley Marathons.

Then he ran five loops of 32 kilometers with many elevation changes over rough terrain. He managed to finish the race as 17th ever.

World record

As of today, Sabbe wants to make a shot at a new world record. He starts on the Pacific Crest Trail. A route from Mexico to Canada of 4279 kilometers.

He doesn’t want to take it even 50 days and therefore walk up to 90 kilometers daily. The current record stands at 51 days 16 hours and 55 minutes.
