Ulm’s negative run continues in the EuroCup

The negative run of German basketball champions ratiopharm Ulm in the EuroCup continues.

At bottom club Slask Breslau, coach Anton Gavel’s team lost 88:100 (37:52) and suffered their third defeat in a row. Four game days before the end of the preliminary round, the Ulm team are fourth in Group B and are still on course for the knockout rounds, but direct qualification for the quarter-finals is a long way off with three wins behind the top duo.

“Especially in the final phase of the group stage, every game can be decisive,” Gavel said in advance and demanded “a reaction” from his team. After a balanced start, Ulm let the hosts take their chances in the second quarter. The rebellion after the break didn’t help.

The Poles achieved only their second group win in their 14th appearance, driven by Dusan Miletic (19 points). On the guests’ side, Karim Jallow was the best thrower with 22 points.
