Ulm maintains its lead in the BBL

Defending champion ratiopharm Ulm won the dramatic top game of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and maintained their lead in the table.

The surprise champions won against their first pursuer EWE Baskets Oldenburg 98:94 (87:87, 47:41) after extra time and celebrated their sixth success in the seventh game of the season. For the hosts, however, it was their first defeat after five wins in a row.

Ulm dominated the initial phase and was ahead by seven points after the first quarter. As a result, a game of equals developed, and by the second half at the latest, both teams had an open exchange of blows – which was only decided in extra time. Ulm’s Dakota Mathias was the best thrower of the game with 25 points.

Alba Berlin and the Niners Chemnitz can catch up with Ulm on Sunday. The Albatrosses meet the Löwen Braunschweig (3.30 p.m.), the Niners Chemnitz go to the Tigers Tübingen (6.30 p.m./both Dyn).
