Uli Hoeneß indicated further transfers

According to statements by Honorary President Uli Hoeneß, further transfer reports can be expected in the near future at FC Bayern.

With Niklas Süle and Corentin Tolisso, two prominent departures from FC Bayern have already been confirmed. While Süle, one of the top performers of the past season, is drawn to league rival Borussia Dortmund of all places, Tolisso’s new club has not yet been decided.

There are also serious rumors of emigration around top scorer Robert Lewandowski. The Pole would rather turn his back on his current employer today than tomorrow. Apparently, FC Barcelona would be ready as a buyer.

Serge Gnabry’s future in Munich is also still open. The 26-year-old national player is still hesitant to accept an offer from the club’s management to extend his contract, which expires in 2023. FC Bayern would prefer to sell Gnabry now than let him go free next summer.

FC Bayern is “working intensively on the new team”

However, the unparalleled unrest currently surrounding these tricky personnel issues on Säbener Strasse does not make Uli Hoeneß nervous. The long-standing manager and president knows the plans of his successors in operational responsibility exactly – and approves of them.

“I think the new team is being worked on very intensively and if everything comes up that they presented to me this week, then I see a good chance that we will have an attractive team next year – with Robert Lewandowski,” explained Hoeneß on the sidelines of commentator legend Werner Hansch’s farewell game on “Sport1”.

It is unclear which players could find their way to Munich. With Noussair Mazraoui from Ajax Amsterdam, only one new signing has been confirmed so far. The right-back is set to be followed by his former team-mate Ryan Gravenberch. In addition, FC Bayern is increasingly being associated with Sadio Mané from Liverpool FC.

FC Bayern: Replacement for Robert Lewandowski “difficult”

According to Hoeneß, Lewandowski’s departure in the coming transfer period is by no means set in stone, despite the 33-year-old’s desire to change.

“I’ve always said: If you don’t have an alternative that you think can replace him to some extent – it looks like it’s difficult at the moment – then I would definitely advocate it, like everyone others in the club that he will stay for another year,” said the Honorary President of FC Bayern.

Lewandowski stays, according to Hoeneß, “you have to see whether he goes on a free transfer next year or maybe even extends it again, nobody knows.”

Hoeneß added: “I would recommend everyone involved to remain objective, not to let the matter escalate, and then the sun will soon shine again over the house of Lewandowski-Bayern Munich.”
