Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is in the Netherlands today and tomorrow. He spoke with various cabinet members about Dutch support for Ukraine.

Ministers Hoekstra and Kuleba met in The Hague.

At his first meeting today, Kuleba spoke with his Dutch colleague Hoekstra about the current situation in Ukraine and the ways in which the Netherlands supports Ukraine: with sanctions against Russia, arms supplies, humanitarian aid and financial-economic support.

It is the second time in a short time that Hoekstra and Kuleba meet each other live. Last week, the Dutch Minister for Foreign Affairs was in war-stricken Kyiv and Irpin, among other places.

Justice for victims

An important topic of discussion was the prosecution of Russian suspects who may have committed international crimes during the fighting in Ukraine. The Public Prosecution Service of Ukraine has now started the first criminal investigations. Hoekstra emphasized that justice for the victims is a top priority for the Netherlands.

Collecting and securing evidence is especially important for justice for the victims in Ukraine. The Netherlands therefore supports the International Criminal Court, which also conducts investigations.

Dutch support to Ukraine

Later today, Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Hoekstra will discuss Dutch support for Ukraine together with Minister Kuleba.

In addition, Minister Kuleba will meet Minister Kaag of Finance, Minister Adriaansens of Economic Affairs and Climate and Minister Jetten of Climate and Energy. This includes phasing out dependence on Russian energy.

Tomorrow Kuleba will meet the Minister of Defense Kasja Ollongren and the permanent parliamentary committee on Foreign Affairs.
