About 29,000 desertors again joined the Ukrainian forces between November 29, 2024 and August 2025 thanks to a new law that grants them amnesty when they voluntarily return. Oleksi SoechatSjov, director of the State Research Agency, told the Interfax-Ukraine press agency on Tuesday. According to SoechatSjov, the bill has been drawn up in collaboration with the army.
