Ukrainian authorities: Russians invade north of the capital Kiev | Abroad

Civilians are called upon to make Molotov cocktails to harass the Russian soldiers. The ministry also writes on Twitter that civilians who do not fight should hide and not leave the house.

There was heavy fighting north and northwest of the Ukrainian capital Kiev earlier Friday morning. According to the Ukrainian army, a Russian force majeure was fought at Dimer and Ivankiv. Dimer is 25 kilometers from Kiev, Ivankiv 30 kilometers away. There is also fighting northwest of Kiev on the Teteriv River, where a bridge has been blown up to hold back the Russians.

In the capital itself, according to Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maljar, Russian soldiers wearing Ukrainian uniforms in two vehicles belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces had entered the Obolon district. A short time later, her ministry reported that those “saboteurs have been destroyed.”
