Ukraine Deaf Basketball National Team, which came to Turkey to participate in the hearing-impaired competitions in Burdur, was stranded in Turkey after Russia’s operation against Ukraine. Athletes, who came to the Directorate of Migration Management in the Muratlı district of Tekirdağ to be hosted, started training at Atatürk Sports Hall to maintain their form. Tekirdağ Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Ahmet Üzgün, who visited the Ukraine National Team, received information about the work from trainer Kakovkin Stanislav.

Making a statement to the journalists after the visit, Üzgün stated that Turkey is a country that embraces the victims and said, “I hope the war ends as soon as possible. Mothers and children do not cry. We want our athletes to return to their own countries and continue their lives. We try to do the best we can. “Our esteemed district manager spends almost all of his time with them here, whether in arranging training hours or going to the bazaar. Our guests are entrusted to us and we will try to host them here in the best way possible,” he said.
