Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany announced Zelensky’s readiness for dialogue with Putin

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is ready to conduct a direct dialogue with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, declared Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk in an interview with Handelsblatt.

Zelensky is “ready to hold direct talks with the President at any time [России Владимиром] Putin,” Melnik said. From his point of view, it was “Moscow that repeatedly and sharply rejected this dialogue and Kiev’s outstretched hand.”

According to Melnyk, it is extremely important that German Chancellor Olaf Scholz personally support the resumption of the dialogue between Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France on Donbass in the Normandy format.

The head of the German Navy declared the impossibility of returning Crimea to Ukraine

He urged the German government to rethink its position on the supply of arms and added that Kiev “will tirelessly urge the federal government and the opposition to put defensive weapons on Ukraine.” First of all, Ukraine needs “100,000 helmets and body armor” for volunteers of the people’s militia, he concluded.
