Ukrainian missiles struck a military facility in Wolgograd, Russia, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who confirmed that the “Flamingo” cruise missiles were involved in the attack.

In a swift counter-offensive, Ukraine launched renewed attacks against the Russian city of Wolgograd during the night and early hours. Local governor Andrej Botscharow reported that industrial facilities were targeted.

At least ten people have been injured and the production facilities of a company were damaged, as per Botscharow’s updates on his Telegram channel. These “high-speed projectiles” caused several fires, though residential buildings were reportedly unaffected. Specific details about the nature of the impacted company were not disclosed.

The new Ukrainian strikes have hit the Russian city of Wolgograd.

Military Factory Hit by Cruise Missiles

According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a military factory was attacked, with “Flamingo” cruise missiles striking the facilities of Titan-Barrikady and setting them ablaze. This factory produces artillery systems and components for missiles used in Russian attacks against Ukraine. Zelenskyy stated, “Any Russian defense facility that supports the war against Ukraine is a legitimate target for our long-range sanctions.”

Reports indicate that Titan-Barrikady manufactures components for various missile types like “Iskander,” “Yars,” and “Topol-M.” Furthermore, the factory is also thought to be involved in the production of the new medium-range missile “Oreschnik.”

The Flamingo Missile

Since last year, Ukraine has been producing “Flamingo” cruise missiles with a reported range of up to 3,000 kilometers. This development signifies a significant leap in Ukraine’s military capabilities, allowing for targeted strikes deep within enemy territory.

Casualties from Russian Drone Strikes

In a troubling report, local authorities have confirmed three casualties from Russian drone strikes in the Ukrainian regions of Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy. In Nikopol, a drone attack on a minivan killed two individuals and injured twelve others, according to the local governor. A man was also killed in another drone attack in the Sumy border region.

Moreover, two more individuals were injured in Russian attacks in the southeastern region of Zaporizhzhia.
