Uefa created a “Club of Wise Men” – Big names form the first football parliament

Uefa has created a new governing body.

AS Roma coach José Mourinho belongs to football’s first parliament. PDO

The European football association Uefa met this week in Lisbon.

The Finns were disappointed because Switzerland was chosen to host the women’s EC tournament instead of the Nordic application and because Ari Lahti withdrew even before the vote on the Fifa vice-president race.

Because of them, less attention was paid to the creation of a kind of club of wise men or a football parliament.

For now, all that is clear is that the group will meet for the first time in Nyon on the 24th of this month, with the former AC Milan great jointly responsible for the results Zvonimir Boban and the Italian who refereed the 2008 European Championship final Roberto Rosetti.

Otherwise, the club’s membership list is a great read. The combined number of Champions League victories increases to more than 30.

Members of Parliament

José Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti, Zinedine Zidane, Paolo Maldini, Fabio Capello, Javier Zanetti, Luis Figo, Philipp Lahm, Ronald Koeman, Gareth Southgate, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Laudrup, Rafa Benítez, Roberto Martínez, Predrag Mijatović, Jürgen Klinsmann, Rudi Völler , Petr Čech, Juan Mata, Robbie Keane

The goal is that ex-players, judges and coaches would be able to protect the sport together and bring up problems related to the game and suggestions for improvement.

The agenda of the parliament, which meets once a year, includes football rules, refereeing, match calendar, UEFA’s own competitions, development of football teams, players’ well-being and football tactics.

The purpose is that the views of the main actors themselves would be better taken into account in future rule changes.
