The Panic Rocker continues to have stomach problems – but he remains resilient.
Another concert cancellation: Udo Lindenberg will not be performing at the Panik Prize ceremony of his own foundation – doctors have advised against it. Just six weeks ago, the Hamburg resident had to miss a performance.
The reason remains an inflammation of the stomach lining for the 80-year-old rock icon. “After suffering from a prolonged severe gastritis, the artist urgently needs adequate time for complete recovery, as recommended by his physicians,” stated the Udo Lindenberg Foundation in Pforzheim on Wednesday. “The decision was very difficult for him; however, it was made to avoid jeopardizing his health.” Therefore, he is still undergoing treatment.
“I was looking forward to the evening and you, my Panic family,” the foundation quotes its founder. “I am very saddened that it won’t work out this time.”
Udo’s Upcoming Performances: A Glimpse into the Future
Lindenberg was scheduled to perform a 20-minute acoustic set at the award ceremony for emerging artists on August 1 at the Kloster Hirsau in Calw near Pforzheim. Now, only the performances of the award winners will take place, along with other program points as substitutes for the Panic rocker.
