The Transfermarkt database has become a bit more extensive again. The United Arab Emirates League Cup 2019/20 is now live. Al-Nasr Dubai defeated FC Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai 2-1 in the final. The former Spanish national player and ex-Real player Álvaro Negredo put Al-Nasr ahead in the first minute before (13th) equalized. Tozé secured the victory (50th).
For Al-Nasr it was the second League Cup triumph in the club’s history. The competition’s top scorers, each with seven goals, were Brazilian-born Fábio Lima, who plays for the UAE national team, and Spain’s Pedro Conde.
FC Baniyas, then coached by Winfried Schäfer, was eliminated after the group stage. Meanwhile, ex-Bundesliga professional Peniel Mlapa scored three goals in four games in the service of Ittihad Kalba.
