Tygo Gernandt makes frantic attempts to downplay his misconduct, but appearances are very bad. Now an upstairs neighbor is standing up to him. “I called the police.”
It has been a week since Tygo Gernandt came under fire for serious stories about aggression problems. Not only his dismissal from Flikken Maastricht has come to light, but also the violence against his ex Dianne van den Eng. She presents a lot of evidence, including a witness statement from a neighbor.
At the throat
Dianne says that the last time things really got out of hand with Tygo was on the night of September 29 to 30. “At my house. I don’t even remember what our disagreement was about, but I was freaking out and crying for Tygo to go away. He didn’t think so and he started lashing out,” she says Private.
Tygo really went crazy, she continues. “First my things were destroyed. Vases shattered and an entire make-up box flew across the room. Then he threw me against the wall. He grabbed me by my throat and squeezed it, but at that moment the bell rang: police.”
Police
It made Tygo angry. “Angry he was. “Did you call them?” he shouted angrily. No, not. I didn’t even get the chance. It was my upstairs neighbor who intervened. She thought someone wanted to kill me.”
The upstairs neighbor also speaks in Privé. She says: “At first I ignored his screams and her cries. It was three in the morning, but there was no indication of physical violence, even though I knew it had happened before. It wasn’t until I heard glass shattering and the noise got louder that I knew I had to do something. Call 911.”
Declaration
The police told Dianne that they would take Tygo away if she reported the incident at that time. She didn’t do it out of love. Dianne: “I didn’t know at the time that the previous investigation had closed a week before. I thought it was still being processed.”
Tygo was more or less escorted to the exit by the police. “The officers kept an eye on him until he was out of the street and then they left.”
